I’m Victoria Méndez and I’ll be responsible for providing you with pristine Spanish translations.

You won’t have to worry about your message sounding unnatural to the recipient. I currently live in Uruguay, so I’m always around my target language. While I live in a Latin American country, I’m highly aware of regionalisms. I will therefore select vocabulary that is understood by the majority of Spanish speakers.

I have two legal translation degrees, an ATA certification from English into Spanish and a solid background in translation and editing. I’m also an experienced project manager, so I know how to ensure everything goes smoothly before, during, and after your project ends.

I take part in local and regional conferences, and I have attended several ATA conferences to keep improving. I collaborated with the organizing committee of the Second International Translation and Interpretation Conference in Montevideo, and I volunteer with the Uruguayan Association of Sworn Translators and the ATA Spanish Language Division.
Experience
I have worked for a variety of direct clients and boutique translation agencies in Uruguay, the US, and other countries since 2000.
Born and raised in Uruguay and having spent time in other Spanish-speaking countries, I am well-versed in language nuances and cultural differences between different variants of Spanish. I always deliver an accurate translation of your original document that speaks directly to your target reader.
I’ve also worked as a translation project manager, which included planning and distributing assignments, overseeing the quality process, dealing with billing and PO tracking, and providing DTP support. All of that makes me a knowledgeable partner for your translation needs.
